Ezy-view or Comfy-pump: which insulin pump belt is right for you?

Choose Ezy-view if you want to see and use your pump without taking it out. Choose Pompa yang nyaman if you’re happy to take your pump out when you need to make an adjustment.

We made two types of pump belt because we know how you manage your diabetes is unique and personal to you. Both are made from the same ultra-soft Lycra/Nylon fabric, sit snug around your waist or hips, and have pockets (everyone loves pockets). The only difference is the mesh panel.

Pompa yang nyaman has no viewing panel. It’s our most popular belt. It comes in Black, Nude, White, Royal Blue, Milkshake Pink, Hippy Twirl, Stars, Joker, Polka-Dot, Camouflage and Indy-Check.

Ezy-view has a mesh viewing panel on one of the pockets. You can see and use your pump without taking it out, so you can enter your food and make corrections discreetly. It comes in Black and Nude, both with a black mesh panel.

What size insulin pump belt do I need?

Measure around your waist or hips, depending on where you’d like to wear it, then choose the size nearest to your measurement.

Our Small fits an average 5 to 12 year old.

In between sizes?

• Size up if you want it more comfortable and relaxed. Lots of people like this for sleeping.
• Size down if you want it more snug. A snug belt keeps your pump from moving and bouncing around, which is great for being active.

Can you sleep with an insulin pump belt?

Yes. Our belts have no clips, zips or fastenings, so there’s nothing to dig in overnight, and your pump stays in its pocket instead of hanging off your pyjamas.

A few tips:

• Size up if you want a more relaxed fit overnight.
• Keep a little slack in your tubing, if you use a tubed pump.
• Choose Ezy-view if you like to check your pump overnight without taking it out.
• Have a second belt on hand, so you always have a clean one ready.

Tip: like any clothing, pump belts stretch a little over time. Keep your older ones for sleeping and your newer ones for the day!

Can you exercise or run with an insulin pump belt?

Yes. A snug fit keeps your pump from moving around, and the pockets mean you don’t need to carry anything else.

Elissa’s youngest, Fred, loves to go on a run. He wears the black pump belt to match his activewear, in a size Medium. He wears it around his waist as a snugger fit, so it doesn’t move around while he’s running. He says it feels like you don’t have anything around your waist at all, and it never gets in the way.

With all the pockets, he can even fit in some lollies and his keys.

How do you wash a pump belt?

You can wash it with the rest of your clothes. We recommend putting it in a wash bag and drying it flat in the shade.

What’s the best insulin pump belt for kids?

Our Pompa yang nyaman Dan Ezy-view belts both work for kids. Our Small fits an average 5 to 12 year old, and we make five sizes, so there’s also a size for older kids and teens.

• Sizes by age: measure your child’s waist or hips and use the table above. Most teens will fit a Small or Medium, depending on where they like to wear it. Kids grow, so check the fit every few months. If the belt feels tight, or your child is between sizes and still growing, size up.
• Toddlers: our X Small (47cm to 55cm) suits many toddlers, depending on their waist. To measure, wrap a soft tape measure around their waist or hips, snug but not tight, and choose the size nearest to the measurement.
• School and sport: our belts are lightweight and discreet, so they sit comfortably under a school uniform. A snug fit stops the pump from bouncing around at sport, and the extra pockets are great for hypo lollies.
• Sleeping: one mum told us her son had just been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and was worried about sleeping with a pump. When their order arrived, he was so excited, and a lot less anxious about sleeping with his new pump.
